Upcoming Events

Established in 1958, the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club is the oldest arena curling club in the United States. SFBACC is a nationally-recognized leader in curling development, providing learning opportunities, youth scholarships, competitive development, recreational leagues, corporate and private events, and more. We teach thousands of Bay Area residents to curl every year!

Now, we are raising funds to build a dedicated curling center right here in the Bay Area so that we can take these programs to the next level. But we can't do it without your support. Please join us and make your tax-deductible gift today: DONATE NOW!

Continuing Events at the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club

LEARN TO CURL

Ever wanted to try curling? This is your chance! Throughout the year the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club offers many low-cost curling clinics. Curling clinics are a comprehensive introduction to the Olympic sport of curling. You will learn the basics of the game, a bit of curling history, and technique fundamentals. During the second half of the session we also hold mini-games as space and time permit.

Upcoming USCA Webinar (November 12th)

From the USCA:

Please let your club members know that all curlers are invited to participate in an online USA Curling Webinar to learn more about opportunities for curlers to compete at the national level. Sam Williams, Chair of Grassroots Competitions, will discuss the growing number of championship events available to curlers across the country. He will also be able to answer your questions about recent developments in the rules. In addition, Shelley Dropkin, past president of the United States Women’s Curling Association, will discuss developmental programs offered by the USWCA. Some may be surprised to learn that several of these developmental programs are open to participants of both genders!

March with SFBACC in the San Francisco Pride Parade!

Our club has the amazing opportunity to once again participate in the 2014 San Francisco Pride Parade on Sunday, June 29th. Let's celebrate our love of curling with over a million people from around the Bay Area, the US and the world. We welcome and encourage all members as well as their family and friends to join us in "sweeping" down Market St. during the 2014 parade. SFBACC will not have a booth this year - just a great march down Market - so we're hoping we can have an even bigger marching contingent!

Jonathan Ochoco and Chris Mina have volunteered to lead our planning efforts (thanks, Jonathan and Chris!), which are already in motion. For those who want to march, our club will have a designated meeting place in the Financial District. We will let you know where this meeting place is once we receive information about the parade line up, and we're hoping SFBACC will have a better place in the parade and shorter wait than last year! For attire that day (suggested): please wear your Loudmouth pants (if you've got them or anything similar) or black pants/shorts with your SF curling club shirts.
