The U.S. Mixed Doubles Championship is in progress December 3-6, 2009 at the Granite Curling Club in Seattle. SFBACC's own Gabrielle Coleman and Barry Ivy participated, starting out with two victories but unfortunately ending up with two wins and three losses, out of the playoffs.

Curling on the Today Show - Wed, Nov 4

Wednesday will be the start of the 100 day countdown to the Vancouver Olympics. As part of their coverage, NBC's Today show will have Debbie McCormick, John Shuster and, I think their teams, do a special bit on curling. The Today show runs from 7 - 11 am - I don't know the exact time the piece will air, but I suspect it will be in the 8 o'clock or 9 o'clock hours.

Officiating Clinics in Seattle - Nov 15

This is designed for Granite members, but they may be willing to take interested SFBACC members. Here's the GCC email:

On Sunday, November 15th we will be conducting a Level I and II officiating clinic to train new (and refresh current) officials on everything you need to know to officiate at a USCA curling event. This is also a great opportunity for new curlers to learn the ins-and-outs of the rules of curling.

SFBACC Jacket Votes - Results!

Thank you to everyone who voted! The results are in and Jacket 1 in orange was the clear winner. (Jacket 4 was the runner-up.) Lyle and I will start working with embroiderers soon to get a sample made to be sure that the design and text will look ok. We certainly hope to use the design from Jacket 1, but, should the design not translate well to embroidery for some reason, we'll use the desing from Jacket 4.

Here's the winning look:
(Again - the final version will be in orange and silver/grey)
