2010 Golden Gate Bonspiel Wrap Up

The San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club celebrated another successful year of curling in California by hosting an open bonspiel over Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, 2010. This Golden Anniversary Bonspiel was a huge success and was attended by 28 teams. Fourteen teams traveled from various clubs and locations across North America to join fourteen local teams in the fun and competition.

Powell River welcomes Bay Area curlers to summer spiel

Powell River is having a summer spiel August 5-8, 2010. It's located on the coast five hours from Vancouver. See their flyer for more info!

Golden Gate Bonspiel a great success

The Golden Gate Bonspiel was held over Memorial Day weekend and was a great success. Twenty-eight teams participated with teams coming as far as Ontario and the Yukon. Congratulations to the Granite Busters for winning the A event. Complete results can be found here.

All-SFBACC Team Finishes 5th at Mixed National Championships

Team Sieg (Lyle Sieg, Gabrielle Coleman, Barry Ivy and Candace Seip) finished 5th at the US Mixed National Championships in Chicago. The team would like to thank club members for all the supportive emails and texts!

California Ladies at National Championships

Congrats to the first California-majority US Women's National Championships curling team! Team Coleman (Gabrielle Coleman, Ann Drummie (Potomac), JoDee Dike-Johnson, Karen Officer) finished with a 3-6 record. The ladies also finished 2nd in the Draw Shot Challenge and Gabrielle Coleman was the women's recipient of the Ann Brown Sportsmanship Award.
