Juniors, Seniors, University and U-18

There are lots of opportunities for curlers who qualify in the special categories of Juniors, Seniors, University and U-18. The SFBACC currently does not have any teams in any of these categories. For some of these events, you can "sign-up and go" to the national championships. For others, there are so few teams in our region, that often, no one uses our berth at nationals.

As of January, 2009, the age qualifications for these categories were:

Juniors - To be eligible for USCA Junior championships, you must be 21 or younger on June 30 the year before the championship takes place. (For example, you needed to be 21 on June 30, 2008 to participate in the Junior National Championships in January, 2009.)

Seniors - To be eligible for USCA Senior championships, you must be 50 or older on June 30 the year before the championship takes place.

University - To be eligible for the USCA University championships, you must be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age on January 1 of the year of the "championship season." For example, in the '08-'09 season, you needed to be at least 17 and younger than 28 on Jan 1, 2009 (even though the acutal championship takes place in November 2008.)

U-18 ("Under 18") - (more info to come)

Please always check with the official USCA rules booklet for any changes to this and for all of the eligibility rules!
