Ice Making Summit II—SFBCC, 9/20-9/22
Register for USA Curling Ice Making Summit II, led by Head Ice Technician Shawn Olesen, at the beautiful, brand-new SFBCC in Oakland, CA.
The weekend will be a great mix of practical, hands-on ice making and off-ice educational sessions. It gets underway on Tuesday, September 20th at 7 PM with socializing, discussion, and dinner. Participants will work on the flood that will be done later that evening.
On Wednesday morning, post-flood scraping and pebbling will be done. That will be followed by off-ice sessions during the afternoon. Wednesday evening will be an opportunity for participants to socialize at the club or explore the Bay Area. On Thursday morning, more on-ice work will be done to prepare the surface of the club's grand opening bonspiel. A final Q&A session will follow—the event will conclude at 1 PM on Thursday.
