SFBACC is dedicated to building a safe and inclusive center for curling in the Bay Area, and that includes the health of everyone who walks through our doors, too.

SFBACC’s highly recommends that individuals remain up to date with vaccinations against COVID-19. Masking may be required by public health policy and/or SFBACC policy. Participants will be informed about current requirements before their event. Please see our COVID safety policies.

If you have any COVID symptoms please stay home (and stay safe). Contact us if you develop symptoms and need to change your registration.

Keep in mind that ice is cold and curling often involves lots of bending and stretching. We recommend wearing warm, loose-fitting clothes (sweats, yoga pants, track pants) and sneakers with warm socks. Jeans, shorts, skirts, and kilts are strongly discouraged (trust us). 

A cozy hat and gloves are a good idea, too.

All curlers under 21 are able to participate in our Junior Curling program, and we’ll group participants by age and experience level as appropriate.

Younger children should be able to participate in a 2-3 hour class including off-ice instruction, discussion of basic strategy, and physical exercises. Keep in mind that normal curling stones weigh around 42lbs, for younger children we have special 20lb “little rocks” available. If you have any questions, please contact us.

All you need to know is that you want to give curling a try. Curling is full of weird terms and unique strategy—we’ll cover all the basics.

Our Junior Curling program is run by curling club members who are experienced curling instructors and who want to share their love of the sport with the next generation. Many are teachers, coaches, and parents themselves. All instructors will have completed the USCA required SafeSport training.

Parents are welcome to wait in the warm room during the session. We have seating, wifi, bathrooms, and big windows where you can watch your children learning on the ice.

Curling can be enjoyed by people of all physical and mental abilities. Our new center is fully ADA accessible (the ice too) and our instructors can adapt curling techniques for a wide range of abilities, including delivering curling stones with a stick device.
